Prepress / Systems Admin | December 1989 | July 1994 |
I provided Digital Prepress services to Nintendo Power, and many in-house books, magazines, advertisements, and marketing. - My duties also included: equipment purchase, installation, networking, hardware and software troubleshooting, market research, interviewing and hiring staff, scheduling, budget planning, and contract negotiation. Approximately 2,580 4-color pp/year
I also developed an electronic mapping system for Nintendo games, now featured in almost all Nintendo publications. The old method involved taking pictures of the television screen, then gluing the pictures, one on top of the other to map a game. I worked extensively with Radius to develop a special version of the Radius TV that allowed a NES/ Super NES signal to be input directly into the computer, which allowed an "electronic" screen capture which were then composited in Photoshop. The difference is illustrated here.
